NAMI Sonoma County works to provide help, hope and healing for those affected by mental health challenges.

EDUCATION
Peer to Peer

  • Opportunity to learn more about personal mental health challenges
  • Benefits from being around others that know what it’s like meeting these challenges
  • Nine-week structured course for those interested in developing relapse prevention

Family to Family

  • A structured series of 12 classes for families and friends of persons with persistent brain disorders
  • Emotional support co-taught by family members designed by a family member / mental health professional
  • Development of problem solving skills, self-care, and communication techniques
  • Advocacy for better services

NAMI Parents and Teachers as Allies

  • Two-hour, in-service program for school professionals and families designed to better understand the early warning signs of mental illnesses in children and adolescents and to communicate and intervene

  • Latest information about mental illnesses and treatments, upcoming events, current support groups, advocacy and policy issues

NAMI Sonoma County Helpline

  • Free telephone service from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays staffed by family members at (707)527-6655

NAMI Sonoma County General Meetings

  • Held monthly in a classroom at 1717 Yulupa Ave., Santa Rosa,- pertinent mental health-related topics

SUPPORT GROUPS
NAMI Connection

  • Weekly drop-in for individuals facing the challenges of recovery from any serious mental health challenge
  • A safe, confidential place to share and learn from one another
  • Weekly art class for people with mental health challenges - Tuesday 2:00-3:30. Drop-ins welcome

Family Members, Friends and Care Givers

  • Support and empathy in a safe environment
  • Various locations and times. Call or check website

NAMI Sonoma County is funded through membership fees, donations, grants and fundraising efforts.
