Music Offerings
At First United Methodist Church of Santa Rosa, we offer a wide range of musical opportunities, and you are sure to find one or more that you would want to participate in. Our music offerings include:
Chancel Choir - a 40-45 voice choir that sings a wide range of musical styles. Our season goes from Labor Day to Father's Day. We sing at our Montgomery Campus during the 9:30 am and 11:00 am services most weeks, except for the last Sunday of the month. We rehearse every Thursday from 7:30 - 9:00 pm in the McMullin Room and Sanctuary. All experienced singers are welcome to join. No audition is required.

Circle of Friends - a 10 voice contemporary women's vocal ensemble. We sing at both campuses about once every six weeks at all four Sunday morning services and at The Spirit Cafe on Tuesday evenings. We rehearse every Tuesday from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in the McMullin Room. Experienced female singers are welcome to join by audition. Contact Doug Albertson if you are interested.
- Jubilee Singers - a 12-15 voice mixed chorus that enjoys singing 2-3 part lighter style music. Often with Guitar accompaniment, we sing at Montgomery Campus on the last Sunday of every month (except July and August) at the 9:30 am and 11:00 am services. We rehearse on the Tuesday preceding the last Sunday of the month from 7:00 - 8:00 pm in the McMullin Room. All singers are welcome to join us. Read music? Not essential. Enjoy singing? You're in! You're also welcome to join many of us at the Tuesday Night Spirit Cafe (5:45 pm) prior to practice.
- Memorial Handbell Choir - an 8-10 person bell group of players from First United Methodist Church and Christ United Methodist Church. We play every other month at the Montgomery campus and at Christ Methodist Church. We rehearse Tuesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the Rose Room at the Montgomery Campus. All are welcome to join if you have basic music skills. No prior bell choir experience is needed.
- Praise Team - an 8-10 person singing and instrumental band who lead worship with contemporary praise music. We lead worship at our Stony Point Campus every Sunday at 10:45 am. We rehearse every Thursday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the Stony Point Worship Center. Praise band experience is needed. Contact Ian Riggle if you are interested.
- Women's Gospel Singers - an 18-20 voice choir that sings gospel music. We sing at our Montgomery campus at our 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 am Sunday services about once a month. We rehearse every Thursday from 6:30 - 7:20 pm in the McMullin Room. All experienced singers are welcome to join. No audition is required.
- Solo and Ensemble Music - performed by vocalists and instrumentalists by arrangement. We enjoy hearing you share your special musical talents. Contact Doug Albertson if you are interested.
During the year, in addition to our music offerings at our services, we perform concerts and special events. We perform a Christmas concert, and we offer Dixieland music each fall, as well as other special singing and instrumental events. Numerous community and school groups use our Montgomery Sanctuary as it provides a great setting, both visually and acoustically.
We perform a wide variety of musical experiences at both of our campuses. We welcome your questions, and invite you to join us and share your musical gifts with our congregation.
